This book (ebook) is a colection of sad and depressing poems. There's even a few gruesome poems thrown in for good measure! The poems span a period of only 2 years - but critcal years - at the ages of 17 and 18. These 'blue pages' are filled with the pain and agony of growing up. Very little changes when it comes to growing up. The fight for acceptance by your parents as you move from childhood into adulthood, mixed with the pressures of study often make the lives of teenagers, in their late teens, miserable ... sometimes bordering on suicidal.

James Taris has always confessed that he wrote poetry for therapeutic reasons. And none of his poems were more therateutic than his depressing poems. By getting his problems off his chest, James was able to solve them - or at least tolerate them - as he moved on through life.

The poems are written in chronological order (newest to oldest), so you you can follow James' journey through his dark years. Many readers have written to James thanking him for sharing his depressing poems with them. They have realated well to his experiences and found solace in these poems. It is always refreshing to know that others have gone through the same miseries as yourself and yet still wound up leading happy and fulfilling lives. The autobiographical stories that accompany each poem also give an added dimension to these special poems.

It's not just poetry

James has developed a unique way of presenting his poems. Instead of merely offering a selection of creative and entertaining poetry, he has also added a couple of other useful and attractive features:

1) Autobiographical trailers

After each poem, James gives some addtional information about when, where, why and how he wrote the poem and/or a glimpse of his life and activities around the time the poem was written. Thus adding an interesting insight with each poem.

2) Creative images (in ebook only)

Plain text on a page can often look bland, so each poem features an image with 2 imaginatively manipulated versions to decorate the poetry page.

So prepare yourselves for a literal and visual extravaganza.

I read your poem 'She's A Gorilla'. Personally I wouldn't say I hate it but it is not my style. The one I really like is "Heaven". The others are more like lyrics and as I am not very musical I can't make them come alive. My failure despite being named after the saint of music! Like you, I write poems because it is therapeutic.
